Step 2: Get Connected

We’ll call you for an initial assessment and match you with a counselor who specializes in your area of need.

Step 3: Talk to Your Counselor

Visits take place via phone or video and last about an hour. Your counselor will work with you to define and work toward your goal.

Step 4: Next Steps

If one visit is all you need, great! But, if like most people, you need more, you can schedule another visit.

Nothing! Virtual counseling is provided at no cost to you.

A counselor will call you to learn about what you’re going through (such as depression, anxiety, or relationship concerns). Together, you’ll schedule a phone or video visit with a counselor who specializes in your area of need.
  • In-the-moment guidance is also available if you need support in a moment of crisis.

45-60 minutes on average.

Our counselors are here to help you with depression and anxiety, work/life stress, marital or relationship concerns, substance use, grief and more.

This depends upon your progress and level of need, but there is no predetermined limit.

If you and your counselor determine that you need long-term or a higher level of care, they will help you find a provider in your insurance network (if applicable).

A First Stop Health counselor with a Master’s-level degree or above in counseling, social work, psychology or a related mental health profession.

Generally speaking, our counseling is well-suited to help provide short-term, solution focused support to parents. Though handled on a case-by-case basis, it’s typically recommended that minors seek more specialized, longer-term support beyond virtual counseling.
